Heidi! I had a very similar conversation on a plane recently! I learned so much from Sheila! A Pink Zones woman who was finally finding a space of her own while balancing a loving long-term marriage and a high demand religious community. Breaking a few of the rules of each is helping her enjoy her later life (she lives in her own apartment in Florida away from her husband but close to her best friend 4 months a year and watches football games on the sabbath even though it’s forbidden). Loved hearing how she gives her time and money to an animal rescue. Truly a fabulous meeting! Pink Zones women are such a delight to find!!!
Very cool story Stephanie! Sometimes wonderful things can happen when you talk to strangers parked next to you for a stretch of time--especially delightful when you may not think you have much in common with them at first glance. I love this way of meeting people in the Pink Zones! :)
I love this story, Heidi. And you do have a magical knack for serendipitous meetings. I'm SO glad that we met, and hope to get together in real life someday. It's beautiful that you invited this woman to share her story, and that she was willing to share. People are so often closed off from each other. It's really special when a chance meeting leads to such a real conversation. Can't wait to hear more!
Thank you Jamie! I actually find your countrymen and women to be the most friendly and invigorating of people to be around, so I feel like we surely connect in person in the times ahead! Meanwhile, your connector- magnet- siren--heroine-like nature on both video and writing is an inspiration!
"A Pink Zone Poster Girl" - so cool! I haven't traveled, especially by plane, in a few years and makes me want to. I remember having a few magical experiences as well. There is something about random, sycronistic encounters that you can't get any other way. Thank you for sharing! xx
Thank you Rhaine! You certainly don't have to take a flight, what you see with your artist's eye is magic that you also weave into words. So happy to have discovered you!
